The Corporate and Commercial team provides commercially-focused expert legal advice and services. Our clients include public and private companies in a wide range of industries and sectors, not-for-profit organisations, and high net worth individuals. Consisting of partners and lawyers from a variety of backgrounds, our team includes specialists with both local and overseas legal experience.

Key people
John Cannings, Partner
John is a well known commercial lawyer with over twenty years experience in all aspects of corporate and commercial law. He specialises in corporate and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring and cross border transactions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and financing arrangements.

John has a special interest in the pharmaceutical industry. He is also the honorary solicitor for and non-executive director of Ian Thorpe’s Foundation for Youth, a charitable trust for the alleviation of illness and sickness in children.
Andrew Wheeler, Partner
Andrew is a corporate lawyer who specialises in advising companies on private and public capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring and financing transactions. Andrew works closely with tax, transactions and other specialists within PricewaterhouseCoopers in the provision of seamless professional services to domestic and international clients.

Andrew has worked in commercial roles in the United States and understands the desire of clients to be provided with practical legal solutions.
